Tell your state senator to fix the domestic violence exemption in PA's utility law SB 1017
📩 Use the form on this page to email your state senator.
The utility law currently includes an exemption for domestic violence survivors, helping to ensure that utility debts accrued by an abuser don’t block the survivor from establishing a safe home. The problem is that eligibility for this exemption is so narrow it doesn’t protect most survivors who need it. The House fixed the exemption so survivors can better access this protection, but the Senate still hasn’t done its part to fix the problem in its version of the bill.
Use your voice to tell your state senator how important this protection is for victims and survivors of domestic violence. Urge them to oppose SB 1017 unless amended to fix the domestic violence exemption.
